Solar panel Oven

you have to take card board box then put aluminum foil on the top. Then get a little screen and put it on top. The put cookie doe inside. Then you whatch your themometer so you know the temperature of the oven.

How Heat Travels

Conduction occurs when two object at different temperatures are in contact with each other. Heat flows from the warmer to the cooler object until they are both at the same temperature. Conduction is the movement of heat through a substance by the collision of molecules. In liquids and gases, convection is usually the most efficient way to transfer heat. Convection occurs when warmer areas of a liquid or gas rise to cooler areas in the liquid or gas. As this happens, cooler liquid or gas takes the place of the warmer areas which have risen higher. This cycle results in a continous circulation pattern and heat is transfered to cooler areas. Both conduction and convection require matter to transfer heat. Radiation is a method of heat transfer that does not rely upon any contact between the heat source and the heated object. For example, we feel heat from the sun even though we are not touching it. Heat can be transmitted though empty space by thermal radiation.

Group Project

Me and SerD plan to build a solar powered Oven. We will build it own our own and them have it bake a cookie.

Quiz Reflection

I made all but two or three answers on the quiz. i did like the way it was set up. I think if it was on paper i would have miss more than that.

Quiz Response

I liked damons because its simple. Its simple. Like in the way it clicks.

Notes

Heat energy can move through a substance by conduction. Metals are usually good conductors of heat, but non-metals and gases are usually poor conductors of heat. Poor conductors of heat are called insulators. Liquids and gases are fluids. The particles in these fluids can move from place to place. Convection occurs when particles with a lot of heat energy in a liquid or gas move and take the place of particles with less heat energy. All objects give out and take in thermal radiation, which is also called infrared radiation. The hotter an object is, the more infrared radiation it emits. Infrared radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation that involves waves. No particles are involved, unlike in the processes of conduction and convection.

Insulator space activity

I think that the cup without the aluminum will start to cool off.
The cup without aluminum started to cool off way faster than the one with aluminum.
My final conclusion is that aluminum is a good heat insulator because it takes longer for the temperature to take effect because its not directly on the cup.

Me and serdeitrec are doing a project on solar panles. We are going to set an appointment with the princibles. To see if there is a way they can make a way to get us a 4x4 Peace of a solar panal to see if can power a light bulb or something.

definitions

A convection is when you transfer het through warmed matter.
A conduction is when you move energy from particle to particle.
A Radiation is when energy is moved through space by electromagnetic waves.
